LOST!

Where’s Cooking Dummy? Thanks for your concerns. It’s hard to provide updates when the main character has disappeared! I’m still trying to contact the Queen’s assistant to see if the video is ready for release. Again, it’s difficult when the main contact has disappeared! She’s not making my job very easy…

By Maggie Wong

In the mean time, I thought everyone would be interested to learn more about Cooking Dummy. What was she like in the past? Was she really chaotic in the kitchen? Perhaps she’s a just perfectionist. I decided to contact her childhood friends to interview them about her cooking. I’ll upload the video soon.

If Cooking Dummy has made contact with you, please let me know.

P.S. Be prepared to see more pictures created by Maggie Wong.

Mr. Beef And Mr. Corn

Happy New Year! What’s your New Year’s resolution? Cooking Dummy has three resolutions.

1) Say “no” to adultescence
2) Be a better chef
3) Be a better chef

I heard her dinner with the Queen didn’t go so well. She took some footage but is still working out some details with the Queen. I guess they want to keep some parts private.

Well, Cooking Dummy took Leaf’s advice. On New Year’s Day, she stalked a few street vendors, hoping they would share some secret cooking advice with her.

I have yet to find out if she was successful. Stay tuned!

Spams Are Cute

Dear Spam(s),
Thanks for checking this blog daily and leaving your footprints. We don’t like you. We are looking for a better way to block your footprints. In the mean time, Cooking Dummy will read each comment before comments are posted to the site. Watch out spams.

Queen’s Invitation

Hush. Let me tell you a secret. Cooking Dummy has been invited along with a few special guests to attend a dinner hosted by the Queen. Not Queen Elizabeth but the Queen of Sai Wan.

How she managed to have her name included on the guest list is still a mystery to me. Cooking Dummy did send a picture to me. What’s going on here? Is she preparing dinner for the Queen?

Stuck @ Newark

Guess who called me just now? Due to freezing rain, most of the flights to Newark were cancelled this morning except for two flights stopping in Newark before flying to Hong Kong. Cooking Dummy was relieved to know her flight was not cancelled. She’s sitting in the plane right now waiting for take off. It’s been two hours since the scheduled lift off time. The deicing crew didn’t arrive in time. When the crew finally arrived, the weather turned for the worse. Now they are waiting….and waiting….

Apparently, everyone’s hungry but the crew is not serving dinner. It’s nice to know Cooking Dummy’s entertaining herself and playing her favourite game, Cooking Mama.

Lost

After many failures, Cooking Dummy feels lost and hopeless. No one appreciates her peanut-butter-honey-ham bagel. Her friends didn’t even bother to vote for her at the Bake-Off Competition. She said, “They pinky swore they would vote for me! C’mon! They should at least do it out of pity.”

Cooking Dummy needs some inspirations. I said, “Why don’t you take a break and visit Hong Kong?” Why Hong Kong? According to the Hong Kong Tourism Board, Hong Kong is known as a gourmet paradise.

What do you think? There’s no better way to learn than to visit the gourmet paradise herself! Perhaps Cooking Dummy will hone her culinary skills there.

PUMA Fragrances and MTV Presents…

Cooking Dummy just submitted the video to the What Gets You Going competition. MTV has to review the video first before showing the video on the site for voting. Now, Cooking Dummy awaits patiently…

You’re probably wondering what PUMA has to do with cooking. Interestingly, using fragrances in cooking can enhance your eating experience. Perhaps Cooking Dummy should start using fragrances to spice up her food.

She wants to thank Geckos and Dancing Angels for exposing themselves to the world.

Let her know what you think about this crazy video!

Bake-Off Results

Who won bragging rights? Take a wild guess.

Let me tell you about her recipe entry. Sarah said, “Just buy the Pillsbury chocolate chip cookie dough. Put the dough in the oven and you’re ready to go!”

Cooking Dummy followed the instructions very carefully. She placed the dough two inches apart and waited patiently for 11 to 15 minutes or until golden brown.

Look what happened.

These cookies did not look soft and chewy.

What happened here? Since her oven wasn’t working, she had to use her dinky toaster oven to bake three cookies at a time, which was extremely time-consuming!

Imagine if she had baked 30 cookies…

30 cookies / 3 = 10
10 x 15 minutes = 150 minutes

Cooking Dummy was not willing to spend 150 minutes to bake ugly cookies. She figured the other contestants would make enough for everyone.

So who won?

She was surprised all seven cookies were eaten. So was I. She didn’t win bragging rights, but she did receive a loser gift. A pop-up Superman hamper!

Bake-Off In 4 Days

Cooking Dummy is going to compete in the Bake-Off Contest on December 3. She still doesn’t know what to bake yet. She has to make a batch for at least 30 people. I don’t know how to help her. So far, she has only made salads. If you’ve any suggestions, please let her know! She’s going against three very talented bakers. Well, maybe only two. Remember Kevin from the Salad Competition? He has been experimenting with weird ingredients lately. Two weeks ago, he was attempting to make bacon chocolate chip muffins. He’s trying to outdo Cooking Dummy’s famous peanut butter-ham-tuna-honey bagel.

Good luck to Kevin and Cooking Dummy. The judge specifed no weird ingredients in their baked goods. How does one define “weird”? Do you think her bagel is weird?

Peanut butter
+Honey
+Tuna
+Cooked ham
+An almost expired bagel
——————————-
Wholesome sandwich

Do you know the story of this picture?

P.S. Cooking Dummy ponders why bagels have holes in the middle?

This Song Is Insanely Infectious

When listening to the song the first time, you will cover your mouth and let out a few giggles. Ten minutes later, the song will grow on you. Don’t be surprised if the following occurs:

1) Hitting your head and screaming “Cooking Dummy! Your song is still stuck in my head!”

2) Singing to your boss, “Just give me two minutes!”

3) Saying to yourself, “I can do it, I can do it, you can do it too!”

4) Dying to use “Karina In The Kitchen” for your ring tone.

Awhile ago, Chi Ling, a friend of Cooking Dummy was having bubble tea with a friend who was looking for a new ring tone. He browsed her song list and said, “Karina In The Kitchen?”

She said, “Yeah. It’s Cooking Dummy’s theme song. There’s a full version and a 15 second one.”

He said, “Nice. Bluetooth the song to me!”

Cooking Dummy can’t wait until she buys a new cell phone. She’s using Siemens M55 which cannot download MP3 songs.

If you’re looking for a unique ring tone, download Karina In The Kitchen song. I understand you may feel a little embarrass to hear her rap, so why not download the shorter version instead?

When you’re in the spotlight, let your friends know about this blog!
