Puma Video Competition

Guess what Cooking Dummy is up to? If you’re a PUMA lover like her, you probably know about the What Gets You Going campaign! “PUMA Fragrances is looking for creative video answers to the question: What gets you going.” The lucky winner will win a trip around the world worth $10,000 Euros.

Sarah, a.k.a. one of the creative geniuses is going to help Cooking Dummy work on a new video. I hear they plan to submit the video as soon as possible.

Any suggestions to the question: “What gets you going?”

Rambo Cooking Glove

On Friday, Cooking Dummy discovered two interesting things:
1) A cooking glove can make her extremely happy.
2) A cooking glove in this generation can be very cutting edge.

Cooking Dummy received a birthday present from Vashti and Kyle. A cooking glove from Kitchen Stock! They’re probably worried she’ll get hurt in the kitchen.

With a silicone exterior, she doesn’t have to be afraid of the heat! The grid lines will keep pots and pans from slipping from her hand.

This present has brightened up Cooking Dummy’s day.  She has faith she’ll advance from making salads.  She’ll compete in the Bake-Off competition on December 3.  The prize? Bragging rights.

P.S. There’s a “Recipes and Tips” section on Kitchen Stock’s website. Check out the Southeast Asian Vegetarian Salad. This recipe looks more complicated than the Asian Salad Cooking Dummy made.  If anyone tries this, please leave a note for Cooking Dummy.

P.P.S. Kitchen Stock also believes in pineapples!

Fruit Cup A La Corn Part 2

Cooking Dummy would like to apologize for the delay in posting part two of Fruit Cup A La Corn. The Salad Competition kept her very busy for the past week. In response to Bambi, the birthday girl was a little shocked because people know she’s a cooking dummy! The name Cooking Dummy is not just a fictitious name.

Let’s recap what happened the night before Cooking Dummy made this special dish. She went to Dominion again. She was shocked to see zero Del Monte pineapple chunks! Cooking Dummy stood in awe on Sunday night.

And she was shocked that no one liked the pineapples. Cooking Dummy tried to find other pineapple lovers. She came across a couple of bloggers who love pineapples! Check out these pineapple flowers on Nami-Nami’s blog. Her “lovely carrot cake” looks amazing with the pineapple flowers. Another blogger, Sarah created the Pineapple and Orange Flower Water and Curried Pineapple Salad!

According to Cooking Dummy’s research, pineapples are good for our health!

Later that night, she had dinner at Felix’s house. She promised to make something again. Of course, the boys were overly enthused. Surprisingly, no one liked the pineapples and corn combination except for Jerry and Felix. Perhaps Asians have different taste buds?

After dinner, Felix surprised her with this lovely birthday cake!

Well Fruit Cup A La Corn seems better than the salad she made at Felix’s house. You know, the time she broke his salad spinner?

Cooking Dummy is indebted to You Figure It Out for submitting this detailed recipe! She finally had a chance to redeem herself after the last fiasco.

FreeRice.com

A friend referred this site to Cooking Dummy.

“For each word you get right, we donate 10 grains of rice through the United Nations to help end world hunger.”

What a great concept she thought. Many Asians, including Cooking Dummy have rice three times a day. She remembers her grandma’s famous saying, “If you don’t finish your rice, your future husband will have acne problems.” Many girls, including Cooking Dummy, have the luxury to worry about starchy carbohydrates when there’re people suffering from hunger.

Cooking Dummy has been playing this game everyday to brush up her vocabularies and give free rice to those in need.

Freerice.com is a sister site of poverty.com and is mentioned on the World Food Programme

As of yesterday, 293,172,530 have been donated!

Check out the FAQ section. Start playing now!

Remember to finish your rice!!!

Lightning @ Cabbagetown

If you’ve watched the salad competition videos (there are 3 videos), you’re probably wondering why Cooking Dummy put mushrooms in the Asian salad. You see, Sarah and Cooking Dummy were at Cabbagetown looking for the secret ingredient.

Guess who she bumped into? It was a dark and cloudy day…

Her friend Seth was surprised she used a mushroom. He said, “Why in the hell did you use a mushroom as your secret ingredient? I would have obliterated all of you guys.” Cooking Dummy didn’t know how to respond to his comment. Should she’ve used a better secret ingredient?

The Salad Competition

UPDATED 10.09.07
Image Hosted byImageShack.us

Watch the videos to see how Kevin is going down!

7:00 am already?!?
Luckily, Dominion is right around the corner.

As you probably have guessed, Cooking Dummy had a tough time trying to find romaines and mushrooms by herself. She had to ask the store clerk for directions. She was a little disappointed to discover Dominion’s mushrooms only come in packages! She only needed five mushrooms!

Kevin G.
She wants to dedicate a section for Kevin. All the contestants were enlightened by his cheerful voice all week before the competition.

Mon: “My salad is going to be the best.”
Tues: “Everyone will love my salad.”
Wed: “Be scared. Be very scared.”
Thur: “What are you going to make? My salad will be visually appealing.”
Fri: “My salad will rock. Be very scared.”

Competition!
Five contestants signed up. Two dropped out.

Brought To You By Albert Villaruz

They heard it once.
It got them.
Now, they’re singing it.

Cooking Dummy wants to thank Albert and Joanna for their creativity!

Cooking Dummy has never rapped in her life.  Albert, who produced and arranged this song definitely knows how to give Cooking Dummy a taste of hip hop rap stardom.  She said, “It was an amazing experience to put a song together from scratch. Albert brainstormed a list of rhyming words and we worked on the lyrics from there!”

Turn up the volume. You don’t want to miss their singing.

Cooking Dummy mentioned Joanna only sat with her for just 15 minutes to come up with the lyrics “Karina in the kitchen, what what? Culinary genius or culinary fool? Just give me 2 minutes. I can do it, I can do it, you can do it too!”

P.S.  Cooking Dummy has one request.  Albert needs a pink microphone for his recording studio.

Fruit Cup A La Corn Part 1

You Figure It Out dedicated this dish to all September babies.

Will JoJo try Fruit Cup A La Corn?

Cooking Dummy wants to thank Angela for coming up with such a great dish name!

Request #1

Cooking Dummy wants to thank You Figure It Out for submitting a request. Despite the different opinions expressed by Sweet Biscuit and David, she decided to give this a try.

On Sunday night at 9:45 pm, she forced herself to go grocery shopping at Dominion.

It was quite enjoyable until she had to find canned pineapples.
She found these signs to be extremely misleading.

She walked down aisle 8 at least 3 times. No canned pineapples.
They were hidden in aisle 7!

It took her more than ½ an hour to buy her ingredients. She definitely needs to start doing grocery shopping.
